Aiming to Please

An artist does not live in a vacuum, they are the eyes of society. Commissioned art has been what keeps an artist healthy; when appreciated by money they sing for their supper - food, shelter, warmth and good cheer follow.

Commissions take a number of forms: art commissioned by non-profit organizations to raise awareness, make profits - art to promote a business owner's services - and art the artist makes which are speculative, generous offerings that represent the artist's mind, and to show off the artist's skills so they can sell their work to grow their reputation. Let's call those "Private Designs."
